Tracy, a Ghanaian based in the UK, recently appeared on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide show with DJ Nyaami.
During her first appearance, she shared that she wasn’t happy with her situation. However, things have since changed, as she is now with a great man who has supported and uplifted her.
Tracy admitted that she wishes to return to Ghana, but it’s not possible at the moment. She noted that life in the UK is particularly difficult for single women, as couples tend to have a better chance of surviving financially and emotionally. “When you meet someone who truly loves you, they love you with all your flaws,” she said.
She advised women not to waste time with men who don’t value them.
“If you meet a man who doesn’t like you, leave him—you’ll meet someone who will take care of you. In the UK, some couples split bills 50/50, but if you don’t like that, you can leave and find a man who will cover all expenses in exchange for respect.”
Tracy explained that relationships abroad are not easy, as partners often have little time for each other. She stressed that it takes wisdom to handle a man because men also like to be pampered. “If he’s not doing something right, stay calm and tolerate him—sometimes he will change. Fire and fire don’t match,” she added.
She also criticized men who, after struggling with a partner abroad, end up bringing over someone they met online instead. According to her, relationships based on such connections often lead to disappointment.
Tracy highlighted that the “50/50” arrangement is a major source of conflict. “If I’m paying half of the bills, why should you share my bed at night? Women are natural receivers. My money is for the family, but his money is for us,” she stated.
She revealed that her partner once told her he didn’t like her anymore, despite loving her, because he was footing all the bills alone. In her view, women should allow men to bear the financial load in a marriage. “Marriage is not a scam when you meet the right person. Love is real and beautiful with the right partner,” she said.
Tracy added that her husband buys her brand-new things, but reminded women that love alone isn’t enough to sustain a relationship. She encouraged women to walk away from toxic men, avoid searching desperately for love, and not chase perfection. “Look for a normal person and help make him better. If you put conditions on love, you’ll be disappointed. Be selfless and love without terms,” she advised.
