Kwabena Anyimadu, a Ghanaian based in the United States, shared his emotional journey and life lessons on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami. A regular guest on the show, Kwabena Anyimadu opened up about reconnecting with long-lost friends and reflecting on life in both Ghana and the U.S.

“I was searching for a friend of mine, and I’m so happy I finally found him,” he said. “Mr Obeng  seem old now, and sometimes he doesn’t remember things, but I remember him well.” Through the program, i also met Yaw Frimpong and his sister Abena YF, who helped him reconnect with others from his past. One woman who watched the show even reached out to help him find contact information for someone he hadn’t seen in over four decades. “It’s been 42 years,” he said. “When I heard from him, it was like a blessing. I always remembered him.”

He praised a man named Mr. Obeng, describing him as kind and generous. “If every man were like Mr. Obeng, we wouldn’t suffer. He helped me find work even when I had nothing to offer in return.”

Anyimadu also shared his thoughts on real estate and life abroad.

“I have a house in America, but none in Ghana,” he explained. “The good thing about buying a house in the U.S. is that it appreciates in value. If I ever decide to move back to Ghana, I can sell the house and enjoy the profit. It’s better than buying a house in Ghana and paying bills on a place you’re not even living in.”

Reflecting on skilled jobs, he said he once considered learning vulcanizing in the U.S., but was advised to go to school first.

“If I had gone to school earlier, I would have opened my own shop by now. I know people doing these jobs and they are doing well. Back in Ghana, we used hammers, but here it’s all about machines.”

He stressed the importance of hard work, especially for immigrants.

“If you’re not doing at least two jobs, you won’t be able to pay your bills in America. I was 50 years old when I first came here.”

He also cautioned others about migrating without proper documentation.

“If you’re coming to America without proper papers, don’t bother. This place is not good for people who just want to sit in an air-conditioned office and relax. It’s not easy here—you have to work.”
