A Ghanaian entrepreneur based in Germany, Mrs. Benedicta Kyerema Ziologos, has once again appeared on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami.

During the interview, she shared her experiences about living and working abroad, highlighting the realities many Ghanaians face when they travel overseas.

According to Mrs. Kyerema, many people have reached out to her expressing interest in farming, while others are eager to migrate abroad.

However, she cautioned against unrealistic expectations, emphasizing that life in the diaspora is not as easy as it seems. She revealed that her white husband has now decided to move to Ghana to engage in farming.

She strongly believes that Ghana offers better opportunities for those who have capital to invest.

“If you have money and a plan, Ghana is better than abroad. Living overseas can kill your dreams and ambitions. If you don’t work for even a month, survival becomes difficult. Even when you’re sick, you are forced to work just to afford health insurance,” she explained.

Mrs. Kyerema also criticized the food system abroad, stating that most foods are grown with fertilizers, unlike in Africa, where organic food is readily available.

“People in the West don’t eat as well as Africans do,” she added.

She further encouraged Ghanaians to consider investing in farming, stating that with just an acre of land, one can make a good living. She herself is involved in poultry farming and is looking to expand into other agricultural ventures.

However, she emphasized the need for full-time farm managers to ensure the business thrives.

In addition, Mrs. Kyerema highlighted opportunities for young African farmers, mentioning that the World Bank provides funding ranging from $1 million to $2 million, depending on the business plan.

She urged young entrepreneurs to take advantage of such programs instead of selling their properties to finance trips abroad.

“By the time you make back the money you spent traveling, it’s often too late. Abroad is tough, and many people don’t realize this until they experience it firsthand,” she stated.

She shared a personal example of how she sold her car to travel to Europe, only to realize later how difficult it was to replace it due to the rising cost of living. She also advised her brother to stay in Ghana instead of traveling, and today, he earns more than she does.

Mrs. Kyerema’s message is clear: while many dream of moving abroad for better opportunities, Ghana remains a viable option for those willing to invest wisely.
