“Marrying Abroad: Stina Diamond Shares Her Insights”

In an interview with DJ Nyaami on the Daily Hustle Worldwide Show, Ghanaian-German-based Tiktok career coach and nurse, Stina Diamond, opened up about her experiences and offered advice on marriage and life abroad.

Stina revealed that she and her husband chose to marry in Denmark due to the complexities of Germany’s marriage process.

“Marrying in Germany is quite difficult, so my husband and I decided to marry in Denmark because it’s much easier,” she disclosed.

She added that Denmark offers a simpler and more affordable process compared to Germany, where couples may even face the risk of their marriage not being legally recognized.

“I know someone who got married in Germany, and later, the authorities told them their marriage was not recognized. So, Belgium and Denmark are better options for marriage ceremonies,” she explained.

Advice for Marrying a Borga
Stina Diamond also shared valuable advice for women planning to marry “Borgas”—a term used to describe Ghanaians living abroad.

She warned that some Borgas may not be entirely truthful about their intentions or life abroad.

“Before you marry a Borga, ask him what plans he has for you once he migrates you. Some might waste your life. Without clarity, you might end up as a housewife with a degree, wasting valuable opportunities,” she advised.

Marrying for Papers and Its Challenges
Stina also touched on the dynamics of interracial marriages involving Europeans. She cautioned that while many marry white men for residency papers, such relationships can come with challenges.

“Some whites can be very abusive, and most people marry them for papers but have to endure the mistreatment,” she revealed.

Her candid insights serve as a cautionary tale and a guide for those considering marriage, migration, and life abroad. For Stina Diamond, preparation and clear communication are crucial to ensuring a fulfilling and successful life as a married migrant.
