Albert Osei-Tutu, a Ghanaian based in the UK mentioned that he planned to build his house in Ghana within a year but it’s been 14 years. 

Speaking with DJ Nyaami on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Albert indicated that working or living in the UK is not as blissful as many Ghanaians believe because of the systems and structures put in place.

“When I first arrived, I planned to build my house in Ghana within a year but it is still not completed. It’s been 14 years now. At a certain point, it was no longer a priority because I got married and had children here, but the source of income remained. It took eight years to get my documents alone.

The expectation is nothing like what we see here in the UK. That’s why most people regret travelling. I know a man who worked with someone’s document till retirement and built a mansion in Ghana but can’t return to enjoy the fruit of his labour.”

Mr Osei-Tutu added that the African man’s perception of life abroad is false and advised that it must be changed. He emphasised the need to reeducate the Ghanaian youth for the country’s development.
