“When I first arrived in the UK, I gave myself two years to save GHS200,000 and return to Ghana. I realised things were different from what I had anticipated. I used to work 19 hours a day.

I did that for 10 months and decided to stop because it would have killed me. A Ghanaian lady recently died two weeks ago due to the long hours she did. She died on her way to the hospital,” Francis said.

Mr Boansi has been in the UK for 12 years and shared that his decision to work abroad has brought him good fortune. He said, “I built my house in Ghana before I turned 35. It was the most important thing to me. I’ll return to Ghana very soon.”
