Abigail Afiba Tandoh, a Ghanaian lady visiting Nigeria as a wedding guest has been kidnapped and was last seen in April in Southeastern Abia State of Nigeria.

Abigail’s brother, Francis stated that Abigail and her Nigerian friend, Celine Ndidum travelled to Nigeria to attend a wedding that was cancelled at the last minute. The police suspect that they were kidnapped on their way back to Aba on business.

“A few weeks after they left for Nigeria, we got a text from my saying telling us to call the police because Andrew had kidnapped her. We replied but she has not responded since. Her phone was eventually turned off. We informed Freddie Blay and he made the necessary arrangements with the Nigerian authorities,” Francis narrated.

Interpol arrested the suspect, Andrew Amechi Otchipo, a 52-year-old British Nigerian in Nigeria but he has refused to speak on the matter.

According to reports, ” CCTV footage from the hotel where the trio met revealed crucial evidence linking the suspect to the missing girls, including personal belongings such as ATM cards and handbags among other others were found in the residence.”

The Ghana High Commission in Nigeria continues to work closely with the Nigerian authorities for the safe return of Abigail Afiba.
