Phillip Yankey, a Ghanaian living in the UK stated that marriage does not benefit men but only women and added that he’d only date if he reincarnates.
In an SVTV Africa interview with DJ Nyaami, Mr Yankey indicated that he belives he is not marriage material becuase he is stubborn. He disclosed that he was the reason his first marriage collapsed.
“I brought both wives (ex and current) from Ghana. With the first marriage, the fault was mine. I was quite stubborn and young then. If it were now, i may not have gotten married in the first place.
Marriage benefits women, not men because immediately you get married, all her problems become your burden. Also, the restrictions of living with someone is difficult for me. i thiink i’m not marriage material,” he said amidst laughter.
Speaking on life in the UK, Mr Yankey mentioned that he became consumed with credit card debt in his first few years in the UK. Debts that he is currently still paying. With his experience, Phillip adviced other africans to stay clear off credit card to their piece of mind.
