CEO of Carline Auto Parts, Kwaku Fosu Asare, has advised the youths to exchange their Bibles for Ghana’s constitution because he believes there will be a significant change in the country if they know the laws governing them.
In an interview on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Paddlemore, as he often called, indicated that religion has made the Ghanaian youth docile and added that they must be actively involved in holding the government accountable.
“Have faith in Ghana and stay. They have to learn the laws of the land. Buy the constitution of Ghana and read a page every day at least. Sell your Bible and buy a constitution instead. I’m saying this to the youth. Forget about Peter and Paul and study our laws.
Our country will develop if they do that because they know the laws. Has anyone been hanged to death for speaking against the Bible? But people were hanged for plotting a coup. There is no power in it, but there is power in that constitution. That is where the knowledge, wisdom and independence is, not the Bible.”
Moreover, the businessman spoke about Ghana’s educational system, urging the government to make notable changes. He believes that Ghanaian languages should be used to teach subjects instead of English. He believes it would make it easier to understand instead of having to learn a foreign language first to take other subjects.
