Olori Atinuke, a Nigerian living in the UK, stated she prefers to raise her kids abroad because she believes there is no future for her kids in her home country, Nigeria.

In an interview on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Olori explained why many Nigerians prefer to seek greener pastures than stay in Nigeria. According to Olori,  some Nigerians sell their properties to travel abroad for a better future for their children.

“All hands are not equal. There are some Nigerians who are well off. If Nigeria is working for you, don’t come here. If you ask people who sell their house to travel to the UK, they will tell you it is because of their children.

I’d have returned to Nigeria if I got a good job, but I wouldn’t want to have my kids in Nigeria because I don’t see a future for my kids there. I prefer places like this (UK), not Nigeria or Africa,” she said.

Olori advised Nigerians against selling their properties to travel abroad. Moreover, she said, “If someone earns 800,000 Naira or even 500,000 Naira (£484) presently, I don’t think they need to come here. You don’t need to sell your cars. I don’t think it’s worth it.”
