“I used to work at Lands Commission and heard about a ‘connection’ to France. Unfortunately, I resigned and embarked on that journey, but the documents were fake. There were about five people, but none of us knew anything about such documents.

We passed through the Ghana immigration, but we were arrested in Frankfurt. What saved me was that they read my diary and verified that what I told them was true. I had written the purpose of our journey in it. It was an educational trip, and I had paid 3000 euros to the agent. We were sent back to Ghana,” he explained.

Years later, Francis applied to study in Germany, but this time, he kept it a secret. He said, “I went to the extent of giving out my things, but I kept it a secret this time. I was swollen-headed and naive, but I learned my lesson this time.”
