Zambian-based in the UK, Gwendolyn stated that women who strip their husbands of their wealth after divorce are cruel.

In a chat on SVTV AFRICA, Gwendolyn indicated that it is unfair for women, especially those who came into the marriage empty-handed to claim the man’s properties after they settle for divorce. She added that it drives most victims into depression.

“I don’t agree with some of the divorce cases I’ve heard. (The fact) that you went into a marriage and the man had a house does not mean you should claim everything after a divorce because you have kids.

Did you come with anything in the marriage? If you came with something, then share half-half. If I came with something, then I’ll go with what I came with. It is not fair to take everything from the man. What is he going to live on,” she quizzed.

Moreover, the single mother indicated that such situations leave many men depressed. According to Gwendolyn, selfishness and greed cause this.

“Are you happy to leave him like that? Is he going to live on the streets? Humans are too selfish, and that’s not good. You must have loved him at some point. That’s when the men become mentally challenged. Just end it the right way and take what you came in with. That’s what I believe in,” she added.
