Turkey-based Ghanaian Michael Yeboah disclosed that he quit his civil service job to study in Cyprus but regretted it immediately after he arrived.
Speaking with SVTV Africa’s DJ Nyaami, Michael expressed his disappointment after resigning from his job to study abroad. He worked as an Environmental Health Officer at Sunyani West District Assembly for five years before his departure.
According to him, the only difference between Ghana and Cyprus is the weather condition. He noted that the facilities, system and electricity supply are similar to Ghana’s. Moreover, Black immigrants have more freedom in Cyprus even without a permit.
“As Ghanaians, we travel to hustle and nothing else. Even when we study, we try to work on the side, but Cyprus is not for such agendas. The country is good for education, but you can’t work there, especially in Northern Cyprus. It is just like Africa or Ghana. I regretted it immediately after I arrived at the airport.”
While studying in Cyprus, Michael visited Turkey a few times and got a permit to work there. After his last semester, Michael migrated to Turkey to start a business. He shared more about life and business in Turkey.
