Belgium-based Ghanaian Kojo Yeboah stated that he has no obligation to cater to his parents and has no care for where they stay either.

Kojo indicated that Ghanaian parents should stop considering their children as investments and instead permit them to live for themselves.

Speaking with SVTV Africa’s DJ Nyaami, Kojo revealed that he has no stress with demands from family and friends in Ghana because he does not owe them anything.

“Recently, a group member pressured me to vote for him for an award, and I denied it because I do it if I want to. I shared GHS10,000 with the same group on my birthday. No one can force me, not even my parents. You didn’t send me to Europe or put money in my pocket.

It’s not my responsibility to take care of my parents. They should cater to me. It’s my responsibility to take care of my children, not my siblings. I can help them if I have extra, but it is not my obligation. I don’t care even if they sleep in a gutter,” he noted.

Kojo Yeboah emphasized that parents should not view their children as an investment. He suggested that embracing individualism could be a solution to a significant portion of poverty in Ghana.
