Michael Arhin shared reasons for his decision to leave behind his seemingly perfect life in Europe to return to his homeland after years of struggle.

In an interview with SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Michael indicated he returned to Ghana in 2019 to establish a shelter home that provides skill training for teenage girls in Ghana.

According to Michael, he worked at a NATO base in Germany, sold his house and moved back to Ghana with his German wife and kids.

“My brother and I were involved in an accident in Ghana, but my brother lost his life. Recently, my younger sibling also suffered from diabetes. So I realised I had to do some good deeds for God’s blessings.

That’s why I returned in 2019. I was the luckiest African to get that NATO A Base job, but I had to leave it behind. I sold my house too and forgot all the money I made in Germany to return,” he explained.

Michael built a shelter home on 2 acres of land with a school in the house. He provides free skill training for teenage girls.

“We have rooms for the girls to stay in like a boarding house, and we have day students as well. I provide free meals three times a day, clothes and medical services too. One batch passed out last year. I run the shelter house with my wife and two other teachers,” he added.

Mr Arhin, however, revealed that he’s sought sponsorship from the Gomoa East district but has not received feedback yet. He urged the government and companies to support the organisation.
