Germany-based Ghanaian Isaac Boateng disclosed that he sold his 5-bedroom house in Ghana to cater for his expenses to Germany, and he believes he will get his money back soon.

In an interview on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Isaac mentioned that he started as a building block manufacturer and eventually evolved into real estate. However,  he figured he would have better opportunities abroad and began searching for opportunities to travel.

According to Isaac, he first sold the house he and his family lived in to travel to Canada, but it did not work out.

“I bought a house and land from that money. So after that plan failed, I returned, built the house again and sold that off. The problem is that the real estate business went down, and it took a long time to get a buyer. My kids were growing too.

I still wanted to travel and decided to sell my five-bedroom house to start another process for a German visa. We can live in that house and go hungry. The visa was finally approved in December last year,” he narrated.

Mr Boateng reiterated that he was not struggling in Ghana but “there are better opportunities here than in Ghana. Ghana is also good, but you’ll struggle because there is no support structure for the youth. Even if you sell your property or leave Ghana with your investment, you will make the money back,” he added.
