Israel-based Ghanaian agriculture student Michael Obeng stated that he would not want to stay after his internship because he wants to put what he learned to use in Ghana.

Speaking on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Michael asserted that he does not wish to build another country when his country desperately needs the same knowledge. He believes that if Ghana’s agriculture sector is exploited, it could be the core of the country’s development.

“I’ll come back after the program ends. People are complaining about the economy, and others say I should not come, but people are making it in Ghana. You won’t be scared if you know what you’re doing.

There’s nothing like permanent citizenship because it’s a security zone unless you seek asylum. The jobs here may not be the type you want. So I would return to Ghana and make something for myself than waste my youthful energy here,” he noted.

Moreover, Michael enlightened viewers on why Agriculture in Ghana has become unattractive and how the government and private sector can benefit from it.

Michael changed his political science course to Agriculture after realising the sector’s wealth. He hopes to become an “International farmer who exports more because that is the only way to develop our country.”
