Canada-based Ghanaian Daniel Tagor stated that the poor people in society often travel, but many travel with no aim.

Speaking on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Daniel indicated that, unlike the Chinese who establish strong communities abroad to help their home country, some Ghanaians abroad are pessimistic, and others tarnish the image of Ghana.

“When a Chinese comes here and sets up a Chinatown, all the money goes back to his home country. He still loves his country no matter what. I’m not saying Ghanaians should not travel, but what is the aim? It’s not about what the country will do for you but what are you doing for your country,” he quizzed.

“So if you’ve managed to build a business or house in Ghana, do not allow anyone to advise you to sell it for a visa. You will regret it. After you’ve sold your family property, the family becomes your dependants.”

Moreover, Danny mentioned that the stress of getting resident or working permits abroad alone could take about five years. This could put the individual under a lot of stress.

“If you want to travel abroad, you must be ready because it is a war zone. Abroad is for the poor because no rich man will send their child abroad to work when they have built empires in their home country. They will only study abroad at best,” Danny noted.
