Netherlands-based Ghanaian Mark Mensah has revealed that his Dutch wife refused to file for him to get his documents because of the experiences of others and how some Africans date to get documented.
In a chat on SVTV AFRICA, Mark indicated that his Dutch wife is well aware of the extent some Africans go to get permits abroad and bluntly told him that she would not file for him even after marriage.
“We’ve been married for 13 years now. My wife didn’t do it, and I completely understand. I impregnated her while dating, so I met her family after that. We got married, and I got documents after the child was born,” he told DJ Nyaami.
Mark mentioned that he has no regrets about the marriage. Responding to why he chose to settle with a Dutch, Mark said his dating experience with a Ghanaian woman was terrible.
“I once dated a Ghanaian lady when I was undocumented. She was a citizen, but she expected me to give her my salary to send to her mother. I asked her why, and she said we both pay the same taxes. I won’t date a Ghanaian lady living here.”
