Gabriel Yesu Nti: From Humble Beginnings to Financial Freedom Through Coconut Sales

Gabriel Yesu Nti, a Ghanaian entrepreneur, has turned selling coconuts into a thriving business that has brought him financial independence. Coming from a poor home, Gabriel decided early on to create opportunities for himself rather than wait for government support.

“I see my coconuts as my office,” Gabriel says. “I wear a suit to sell them, and through this business, I’ve gained financial freedom. I now own a car and motorcycles.”

Gabriel sources coconuts from people in his village and sells them both retail and wholesale. He began by carrying coconuts on his head and gradually expanded. Today, he has four sales joints across Accra, and some customers even use motorbikes to come and buy from him. With his hard work, he says he can make up to GHS 2,000 daily from coconut sales.

“I believe in strength and hard work,”

Gabriel explains. “From my 20s, I knew I had to be strong to gather resources and become independent. Most people are shy and prefer to wait for government help, but success doesn’t come from the government—it comes from your own efforts.”

Despite not completing Junior High School, Gabriel focused on entrepreneurship. “I wanted to create something for myself, and now I even employ my younger siblings. Education is important, but building your own business opens your mind and creates real freedom,” he adds.

Gabriel operates his business at multiple locations: Accra Race Course, Sowutuom Chop Bar, and Center Maria Land Junction. He also deals in dwarf coconut seeds that harvest after three years.

“My days are busy,” he says. “I barely rest, and people come every day to buy. If we could have a store where people could sit and enjoy coconut drinks, it would be amazing. I pray to expand my farms and grow my business even further.”

Gabriel Yesu Nti’s story is a testament to resilience and entrepreneurship, showing that with hard work, determination, and vision, financial freedom is possible even from humble beginnings.
