Gloria Adwoa Amoaninmaa Konadu, a Ghanaian based in Brampton, Canada, has lived in the country for 31 years. Speaking on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide Show with DJ Nyaami, she reflected on her childhood, education, family experiences, and personal challenges.

Gloria attended Kings International School in Kumasi before relocating to Canada to join her mother. When she arrived, she continued her education in Toronto, starting from Grade 7.

She later went to Humber College and initially considered a science path, but after realizing her strengths were in English, typing, reading, and computers, she switched to Medical Office Administration at George Brown College.

She began working in a doctor’s office before moving into the hospital system, where she worked for about a year and a half under the William Osler Health System.

However, Gloria eventually transitioned to long‑term disability support in 2012 due to ongoing mental health challenges, which she says were difficult but taught her important life lessons about stress, relationships, and personal well‑being.

Gloria spoke candidly about past relationships and the emotional impact of marriage and divorce. She shared that some of her difficult experiences inspired her to write and publish books focused on life lessons and spirituality. She has also written and recorded multiple music albums, including gospel, lullaby, and instrumental projects, each containing nine songs, along with several singles.

Her mother, who worked as a mental health nurse, supported her through periods of stress and recovery. Gloria says that although health struggles have affected different areas of her life, she remains grateful for support systems around her and continues to express herself through writing and music.

Today, Gloria lives in Brampton and remains hopeful about companionship and community, even though she prefers a quiet lifestyle and rarely attends social gatherings. She encourages others to value their mental health, stay resilient during life’s challenges, and pursue creative passions.
