Ceo of Kofi Farms Kofi is a Ghanaian who relocated to Brazil for many years but eventually decided to return home to Ghana to start poultry farming. His family initially did not understand his decision, but he took a bold step and began the business in his father’s house.
In an interview with DJ Nyaami in SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide show, Kofi revealed that his family has now accepted and embraced his choice to go into farming.
He explained that the egg market is highly competitive, and eggs remain the cheapest source of protein in the world. Because of this, the egg industry is stable and unlikely to collapse. He noted that many people returning from abroad have invested heavily into farming in Ghana, which has helped the country feed itself. Investments and production have increased, although the price of feed has also risen significantly.
Kofi shared that his distributors come directly to his house to collect the eggs. He advised that anyone entering poultry farming must be willing to expand and “spread their wings.” The goal is to produce more eggs, cover production costs, and still be able to save and reinvest.
Kofi encouraged people who want to travel abroad to go, explore, and learn—but also reminded them that if they eventually change their minds, they can always return to Ghana and restart their lives. He noted that Brazil is not an easy place to acquire capital, and many of his friends there are afraid to return home empty-handed. However, those friends still encourage him to work hard in Ghana.
According to Kofi, life is about impact, and returning to Ghana has allowed him to create something meaningful through farming.
