Ewura Ama, a Ghanaian based in the United States, is a returning guest on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide show with DJ Nyaami. She first appeared on the program shortly after moving to America and has now returned with exciting updates about her life — including welcoming a new baby.
Ewura Ama shared that marriage brought her to Texas, describing it as a family-oriented state with affordable housing and a relatively low cost of living. She explained that life in America revolves heavily around work, so proper time management is essential.
“In my three years in the U.S., I’ve given birth to two children, and I already had one before moving here — so now I’m a mother of three,” she said.
Before taking maternity leave, Ewura Ama worked at a hospital. During her leave, she decided to turn her passion for childcare into a business. She now runs ‘Where Mama Lives Daycare’ in Fort Worth, Texas, which started with caring for her own children before expanding to include others.
“I’ve completed all the necessary checks and certifications and have begun enrollment for more children,” she explained. “Taking care of kids abroad can be demanding, but it’s fulfilling. I operate the daycare from Monday to Friday, looking after my own children and others while earning an income.”
Ewura Ama also highlighted the challenges mothers face abroad, noting that staying home to care for children often comes with pressure, especially when financial support from partners or family isn’t consistent. Nonetheless, she remains determined and proud of the balance she’s created between motherhood and entrepreneurship.
