Maame Betty Speaks on Women Dating Married Men — “Women Are Their Own Enemies”
Maame Betty, a Ghanaian based in the United Kingdom and a regular guest on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami, has shared her strong views on women who knowingly date married men and try to take over their marriages.
According to her, many women ignore obvious red flags when they desire marriage. “Most women refuse to face the truth even when the handwriting is on the wall. Some go as far as having children for these men, believing that their time and effort will eventually make them the legitimate wives,” she said.
Maame Betty advised men to be honest from the start. “If you’re married and interested in another woman, be upfront about it. That way, she knows what she’s getting into,” she said. “The problem is, some women see the ring on a man’s finger but still pretend they didn’t know he was married.”
She emphasized that no woman can truly claim ignorance if her partner is cheating. “When you’re close to someone, you can always sense a change in their behavior. Some couples even separate temporarily just to manipulate the system abroad for financial benefits. It’s like living as a single parent while still married,” she explained.
Maame Betty also cautioned women who suspect their partners abroad may already have wives in Ghana. “If you doubt him, travel with him to Ghana and meet his family. If his mother and relatives start pretending, you’ll know something isn’t right. Some men lie just to get legal documents (nkrataa) through women who trust them,” she added.
She went on to note that many men hide their marital status, leaving the responsibility on women to find out. “Liars are never consistent. Sadly, most people who support polygamy are women, which makes them overlook deceit. Some even end up in emotional pain and regret,” Maame Betty said.
In conclusion, she stated, “Most women see themselves as being in competition with another woman and try to outshine the wife. But the truth is, women are their own enemies.”
