Meet Godfred, the CEO of Osei Yeboah Farms — The Ghanaian Teacher Turning Farming into a Thriving Business

Godfred, a professional teacher and the CEO of Osei Yeboah Farms, shared his inspiring journey in an interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle GH and Business Link.

According to Godfred, his passion for farming began even before completing college. “Before I finished training college, I had already started rearing animals and even managed to build my house,” he said.

He began small — visiting villages to buy animals and promoting them on Facebook. “I started selling animals online, but my colleagues laughed at me. They thought a teacher shouldn’t be doing that kind of work,” he recalled.

As a government teacher, Godfred didn’t let public opinion stop him. He carefully studied the market, identifying the needs of meat consumers and the best places to source livestock. “I used social media to connect with customers and build trust. Within two years, my online presence grew, and people started believing in my business,” he explained.

Today, Osei Yeboah Farms operates efficiently with a strong online reputation. “Some people even send me 250 goats at a time, and I pay them later — that’s how much trust we’ve built,” he said proudly. The farm also runs a reliable delivery system and receives up to 50 orders a week.

Godfred started small — on just a quarter plot behind his house — but has now expanded to a larger space due to high demand. “Even though I’m still teaching, I don’t depend on one job. Wherever my farm is, I attach a small restaurant to it,” he said.

He believes strongly that opportunities exist in Ghana. “People abroad sometimes don’t even have one job. So, how much more we here in Ghana? There’s money in Ghana — you just have to find your lane,” he advised.

Despite being a creative arts graduate, Godfred has built a name for himself in agribusiness. “I learned creative arts at the university, and I always encourage others to use their skills. People may laugh at me, but I know what I make from my business,” he said confidently.

He concluded by saying, “I don’t plan to leave Ghana permanently. I can travel abroad for holidays, but Osei Yeboah Farms is my foundation — and I’m not giving that up.”
