Nana Yaa Yeboah, a regular guest on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide show with DJ Nyaami, shared her inspiring story from Canada. Having lived abroad for 30 years, she now uses her experience to coach others on how to realign their lives.

“I’ve learned so much over the years, and I now use that knowledge to help people rediscover themselves,” she said. “Living in the Ghanaian community abroad is good, but you must step out of your comfort zone if you truly want to grow.”

This year, Nana Yaa made it a goal on her bucket list to transition from her old job into a new career. She successfully achieved that and now works as a Community Health Program Manager.

Interestingly, the person who hired her was her former classmate from university. “I have a child in college, I take care of my kids, pay my mortgage, and make sure my insurance and savings are in order,” she explained. “All these responsibilities have taught me one thing — I must help myself first before I can help others.”

She continued, “I’ve learned to put myself first before anyone else. People often say I don’t care about others, but that’s not true — I just believe in self-care and setting boundaries.”

Nana Yaa also advised Ghanaians living abroad to be realistic about doing business back home. “You can’t live abroad and expect a business in Ghana to run smoothly without your presence — it won’t work,” she emphasized. “Those who understand how to manage things from a distance are far ahead.”

She encouraged people to take advantage of technology and information tools. “Nowadays, you can even ask ChatGPT about business ideas in Ghana and get useful insights,” she added. “The key is to take action and stay informed.”
