Life in the UK Showed Me the Real Value of Money & Discipline – In Ghana, Negligence Is Killing People – Bus Driver
A Ghanaian bus driver based in the United Kingdom Aboagye has shared how life abroad transformed his perspective on money, discipline, and responsibility. In an interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide show, he explained how the UK system taught him valuable lessons that he believes Ghana is still lacking.
According to Aboagye, living in the UK showed him how strict discipline and accountability are built into everyday life. He noted that the road system, for instance, is highly regulated, and drivers cannot afford to be careless. “In Ghana, negligence is killing people every day, but here, you either respect the law or face the consequences,” he stressed.
He also highlighted how living abroad changed his financial mindset. In Ghana, people often spend without proper planning, but in the UK, money management is tied directly to survival. “Life here teaches you to budget, save, and think ahead. It’s not about how much you make but how wisely you use it,” he explained.
Aboagye added that these lessons are what make the difference between success and failure abroad. He encouraged Ghanaians back home to adopt the same sense of discipline, law-abiding behavior, and financial responsibility, noting that the country could save countless lives and build a stronger economy if these principles were practiced.
