Ghanaian Charity recently appeared on SVTV Africa Connect to appeal for help in locating her missing brother, Amankona Kyere Albert. According to Charity, Albert studied in Ukraine but fled the war and eventually made his way to Germany. Upon arrival, he lived with a friend from Drobo, but after some time, he moved out, and since then, the family has not heard from him.
Charity revealed that Albert allegedly developed mental health issues while in Germany, which led to him being evicted by the friend who initially hosted him. That same friend later returned to Ghana and claimed he had not seen Albert again. One of Albert’s acquaintances mentioned that Albert might currently be in Canada, but the family has not been able to confirm this.
Albert’s friends in Germany have since acquired their legal documents and are working, but due to his mental health struggles, he was unable to regularize his stay. Reports indicate that he may have been arrested at some point in Germany, and after serving time in prison, his mental condition worsened. It’s alleged that after being released, he returned to his former residence and caused destruction, which further complicated his situation.
The family has tried to convince him to return to Ghana, but he once mentioned he had gone to the police station to request deportation. Unfortunately, that did not happen, and he has remained stranded in Germany for the past three years.
According to Charity, her mother is deeply distressed and struggles to sleep at night due to the uncertainty surrounding Albert’s condition. Although someone claimed Albert once called a family friend in November, they have not been able to reach him again. Attempts to locate him through the embassy have also been unsuccessful since he traveled to Germany via Ukraine and does not have registered documentation there.
Albert has four siblings — two of whom are boys. The family remains hopeful that if he is found in stable mental condition, he can resume his work life. However, if his mental health remains a concern, they are willing to bring him back to Ghana and take care of him.
Charity believes he may be in Hamburg and is pleading with Ghanaians abroad, especially SVTV Africa viewers, to help locate her brother. She emphasizes that he is originally from Drobo, in the southern part of Germany.
