Charles recently shared his story on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide show with DJ Nyaami. He revealed that he initially intended to travel to Australia, but the agent he paid ended up sending him to Singapore, and later moved him to the Philippines. Stranded and desperate for help, Charles appealed for assistance to return to Ghana—and thankfully, he has now been sorted out.
Interestingly, another Ghanaian also named Charles, who has been living in the Philippines for some time, stepped in to support the stranded Charles. The two connected, and with the help of SVTV Africa, they were able to resolve the situation. The stranded Charles now has a return ticket and accommodation, and he expressed deep gratitude to SVTV Africa for their intervention.
The resident Charles, who works with a tech company in the Philippines, advised others planning to migrate there to be cautious, as times are tough. He encouraged the stranded Charles not to see his ordeal as a defeat, but rather as an expensive lesson and part of the learning curve that comes with migration. He emphasized that hustling in the Philippines is difficult, and the world is constantly changing.
SVTV Africa Foundation also stepped in to extend the hotel stay for the rescued Charles by three more weeks and provided food and other essentials. Resident Charles played a major role in helping his stranded brother get back on his feet.
Thanks to the combined efforts of SVTV Africa and the Ghanaian community in the Philippines, the once-stranded Charles is now safe, housed, and on his way back home.
