Kojo Frimpong, a Ghanaian based in Copenhagen, Denmark, shared his incredible life story during an interview on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami. Having lived in Denmark for the past 25 years, Kojo opened up about his struggles, resilience, and eventual success.

He revealed that he left Ghana at age 14 and was sent to Denmark by his parents due to his stubborn behavior as a child. Life wasn’t easy at first.

“When I arrived, I ended up homeless and used to sleep on the streets,” he recalled. “Eventually, a girlfriend I had at the time took me in and gave me a place to stay. I used her address and later another one to start putting my documents together.”

Kojo shared that he joined a music group in Denmark, which ignited his passion for entertainment.

“I started doing music, attending interviews, and even got into dancing. It was all part of finding myself.”

He worked various jobs in his early years, including with a moving company, pocket driving, and doing odd jobs. Eventually, he opened his own cleaning company and later added a salon to his ventures.

He shared a pivotal moment in his journey:

After visiting Ghana and returning broke, I asked an Ugandan friend to hire me in his cleaning company. He didn’t have money to pay me, but I offered to work for free. I worked for two months without pay, just to learn window cleaning. Eventually, he wanted to sell the company, and I asked him to include me in the contract.”

Kojo took over the business and started operating on his own—initially using a bicycle to move around for jobs. His determination paid off.

My brother’s wedding in Ghana in 2013 marked a major turning point in my life,” he said. “I invested heavily in small-scale mining, went into serious debt, and I regret those decisions in 2014.”
