Martha, a Ghanaian woman living in Begoro, has made an emotional appeal on SVTV Africa Connect in search of her father. She currently works in Begoro but originally comes from Mankrong Swedru.

According to Martha, her father’s name is Peter Gyanbra Dente, but he later changed his name to Richard Paka. He is originally from Agona Nyakrom. She and her siblings knew him throughout their childhood, but he left in 2007 and returned briefly in 2014 before disappearing again. When he first left, he kept in touch with them, but since his departure in 2014, they have not heard from him.

There have been various reports about his whereabouts—some people claim to have seen him in Obuasi, while others say he moved to Takoradi. There are even rumors that he is in Kuwait, but his actual location remains unknown.

Martha revealed that she and her seven siblings grew up under their mother’s care, but they still long for their father’s presence. Despite their mother’s efforts, they missed having a father figure in their lives. Their mother even traveled to Obuasi in search of him but was unable to find him. Now, due to old age, she no longer has the strength to continue looking.

Their father, Peter Gyanbra Dente, was once wealthy and worked in the commercial bank sector, but he faced financial struggles, lost his wealth, and eventually abandoned his job. Before he left, he promised to rebuild himself and return to take care of his family, but that never happened.

Martha emphasized that all his children are now grown, with the youngest being 25 years old. They want to take care of him and introduce him to his grandchildren, as he has never met any of them. Their mother never remarried, and she has urged them to search for their father.

Martha also shared that the last time they saw their father was at her sister’s wedding, where he collected some money but never returned. On that occasion, he asked for their forgiveness, assuring them that he was working on stabilizing his life before returning home. In 2016, he called Martha once, but since then, his phone number has been unreachable—they can only receive calls from him, but when they try to return the call, it doesn’t go through.

Despite everything, Martha and her siblings remain hopeful. She described her father as once being tall and thick, with a broad face, though he had lost some weight when they last saw him. His physical stature resembled that of the late Ghanaian actor Bernard Nyarko.

Martha concluded by sharing her father’s known names: Peter Gyanbra Dente, Uncle Pee, Richard Poka, or Daa Pee. She urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to help them reunite with him before it’s too late.
