UK-based Ghanaian Doris mentioned that she became a divorced single mother after 7 years of marriage; somethign she had never expected.
In a chat with SVTV Africa’s DJ Nyaami, Doris mentoned that she never envisioned that she would find herself as a divorcee. After spending seven years with her husband, he unexpectedly decided to end their marriage.
They had moved to Belgium together with hopes of building a life, but things fell apart when a misunderstanding arose between them. Doris felt that they could have worked through their issues with open communication, but her ex-husband was unwilling to talk about their problems.
“Even pastors were invited into the conversation but he refused to speak and asked for a divorce instead. So I gave it to him and refused to apologise,” she said.
Instead, he abruptly asked for a divorce, leaving her to confront the unexpected end of their relationship and his departure from their home.
