Vida, a Ghanaian based in Lebanon has stated that she cannot leave despite the recent Israel air strike because her employers keep her passport.
Speaking with DJ Nyaami on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Vida indicated that she works as a house help and lives with her employer’s husband and kids while her employer lives in the UAE.
“I can’t leave Lebanon because my passport is with my employer. They took my passport when I started working and I’ll only get it back when my contract ends. It is not safe but they announce it whenever an attack is about to happen.”
In response to whether she would leave if Ghana’s government decided to come to their rescue, she said,” No, I don’t want to return to Ghana. I have my kids to take care and I have to stay to get the money.”
