Madiba, a Ghanaian based in the US, shared her travel journey across the Middle East, stating that she was maltreated for two years and returned to Ghana empty-handed after her contract ended.

In an interview on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Madiba disclosed that she consulted a travel agent and planned to pass through Turkey to Greece. However, when she got to Kurdistan, she was sold off to another agent and joined a group of girls.

According to her, the agent took them across the border to Iraq, and most of the girls were sexually harassed, but her physique saved her.

“They kept us in a room, and a group of soldiers searched and took photos of us. The agent who brought us had sold us off to Iraq. At the border, some of the girls were sexually harassed. I was very slim, and they even mistook me for a boy sometimes.

I couldn’t go to Turkey from Iraq, so I had to work for two years to pay $2000 because I was released. I arrived in Ghana in 2020 without a cedi. The little money I earned in Iraq, I gave it to my brother to travel to Dubai because I didn’t think I would make it out alive in Iraq. The maltreatment was too much,” she narrated.
