Peter Manu, a Ghanaian based in the US, disclosed that he would be the happiest man if given the job of a trash collector (Borla man) in the US.

In a chat with SVTV AFRICA’s DJ Nyaami, Peter mentioned that some locals often ridicule Ghanaians living abroad for the kind of jobs they do. However, Peter revealed that he had applied for a trash collector position in his city for quite a while but never received a callback.

“I’ll be the happiest man on earth. It is mostly whites in that job. I’ve done many applications but they never call back and people ridicule us with us. They think that is only what immigrants do. That job has many benefits and pays well,” he said.

Speaking on his time in the US, Peter disclosed that he worked over 16 hours daily when he first arrived in the US. He decided to quit after he realised a fall in his health.

“I was standing on a train on my way to work one time and all of a sudden, I was falling. A lady held me up and advised me to stop working long hours. Many people have died from doing multiple jobs here. You’ll get the money but you may lose your life in the process.”
