Awo Akosua, a Ghanaian nurse currently residing in the UK, expressed that her anticipated experience of living abroad has fallen short of expectations. Additionally, she indicated that she would consider returning to Ghana provided she can generate a monthly income of GHS10,000.

In a chat on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Awo mentioned that her perception of life in the UK was far from reality. After two years in the UK, the young nurse stated that Ghana’s social life is better and would gladly return if she could earn Ghs10,000.

In response to whether she would accept GHS15,000, Awo said, “The plan is to return to Ghana after a while here. So, I’ll return to Ghana. I’ll accept GHS10,000 to work as a nurse in Ghana. It is too stressful here and there is no social life here. So GHS15,000 is more than enough.”

However, speaking on the opportunities in the UK, Awo mentioned that she believes there are many to explore and hopes to make the best out of them. She currently works as a health care assistant.

Awo Akosua also discussed the challenges of living in the UK and experiencing culture shock.
