Ghanaian based in Germany Afro stated that he may have been more successful if he had not travelled to Germany years ago.
In a chat with DJ Nyaami on SVTV AFRICA, Afro mentioned that he had established a business venture and was comfortable in Ghana. However, a friend advised him to join him in Germany and heeded his advice.
“Yes, Germany has helped me a lot but if I were in Ghana, I may have been more successful than I am now. I say that because of the job I was doing. I travelled without anybody’s help. It was all from my pocket.
The thing is that no matter how you see yourself as a ‘borga’, those in Africa believe you have more money than them. The same friend who is into real estate with cars parked at home still thinks you are richer.”
Afro added that despite the opportunities in Ghana, they can never be compared to Germany and Europe. However, he advised people to avoid selling their properties or leaving behind established businesses to travel abroad.
