A Ghanaian based in Germany, David stated that Ghanaians are blind to the good life and necessities they must enjoy as citizens.
In an SVTV AFRICA interview with DJ Nyaami, David indicated most Ghanaians only find out after they travel abroad and he is no exception. David travelled to Libya in 2011 and returned to Ghana during the civil war. However, he returned to Libya in 2012 because he realised Libya was better.
“You’re like a blind man if you have not travelled abroad before. I realised that our leaders worked against us when I got to Libya. I even compared Libya to Italy when I first got here because I made money every day but in Italy, you needed documents to work.
The Ghanaian leaders have blinded us on many things, especially the basics like good roads, and a good environment. We are behind on many things and it makes me cry whenever I get news from Ghana,” he said on Daily Hustle Worldwide.
David stayed in Libya for five years before crossing the Mediterranean Sea to Italy. According to David, he made enough money in Libya and did not dream of leaving until he met his girlfriend in Libya. She convinced David to join her in Italy and broke up with him after he arrived.
