Nana Kofi, a Ghanaian nurse based in the UK, disclosed that he left Ghana because the working conditions and incentives provided to nurses were poor.

In an interview on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Nana Kofi indicated that many Ghanaian nurses are not motivated to continue working in the country because the incentives provided are not sufficient. As a result, many leave the country solely to earn more money.

According to Nana Kofi, his mother worked as a nurse for 35 years, but her pension pay was worrisome. This further motivated him to leave the country for better opportunities.

He advised Ghanaian nurses to consider leaving the country to work elsewhere. Nana Kofi thinks it’s not wise to stay in Ghana and wait for the country to develop, particularly during one’s younger years.

“I’d advise everyone to travel if they get the chance, especially nurses. I’ve not experienced any difficulties since I came to the UK. Everything has been running smoothly for me. We don’t have all the time in the world. You’ll end up retiring from work with nothing saved. Don’t waste your youth in Ghana hoping it will develop,” he said.
