Don Bestman, a Ghanaian based in the UK, regretted filing for his ex-wife to join him in the UK after seeing some red flags in her.
In an SVTV Africa interview with DJ Nyaami, Don mentioned that they were together before he travelled and did not want her or others to feel he had abandoned her after leaving the country. However, ignoring his instincts lost him more.
According to Don Bestman, his ex-wife planned to destroy her before filing for divorce. She had him thrown out of the house after reporting him to the police for allegedly beating him up.
“After my ex-wife gave birth, she wanted us to bring her family member to help around the house, but I was doing everything. I bathed the baby and even cooked because I wanted her to feel okay, but she stole my documents for her cousin to bring to the UK.
Before that, she falsely accused me of beating her up, and the police put me out of the house for some days. The second time I was thrown out, I slept in a guest house for days, and she came there for sex. I eventually heard an audio of everything she had planned. She wanted me to have a criminal record.”
Don Bestman added that his ex-wife eventually filed for child support, which he has been paying for eight years now. However, he has not seen the kids since their separation.
