Jen Adae, a Ghanaian born in the UK advised Ghanaian youth to change the perception that they will become rich when they travel abroad and added that there are poor people in the UK too.

The host of Daily Hustle Worldwide, DJ Nyaami, asked about the mindset of Ghanaians about life in the UK or abroad.

She said,” It’s a lie. That one is a lie. Not everybody here is rich. At all. People are suffering here. There is a cost of living crisis. This whole dream of when you go overseas, all your problems will be solved.

It’s a lie. Whoever told you that is lying. You’ll suffer. First of all, it’s cold. Second, you experience some racism, and third, you have to work hard for your money. And it’s very hard to do that, especially if you come from a warm and loving country like Ghana.”

Despite being born in the UK, Jen mentioned that she experiences some form of racism, especially at work.

“As a Black teacher, I don’t think they like it. They always find some reason to get me in trouble, and it’s the colour of my skin. It is subtle here, unlike in the US, where they say it to your face.
