Lyineth Acheampomaa, known on TikTok as the Microphone Vice President, stated that many Ghanaian single mothers choose to be single.
In an interview on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Lyineth mentioned that many Ghanaian women abroad often create marital problems for divorce because of the systems put in place for single mothers. After the divorce, many of these women are unable to take care of the child’s needs.
“It is better to bring home $200 if it means I’ll have time for my child than to bring home $1000 for the child to be miserable. I’ll never do that. Most of the kids here lack motherly love.
Many Ghanaian parents here often focus only on money. That is why Americans choose to have few kids to be able to cater to them. Some Ghanaians would build a hotel in Ghana for people to know they’re in America.”
Speaking on divorce among Ghanaians in the US, Lyineth mentioned that they are often caused by financial misunderstandings because “in some cases, the single mothers choose to be single. Some women build houses in Ghana without telling their husbands. They create marital problems for themselves.”
