Bahrain-based Ghanaian Idris Nii Korley Klottey revealed he bawled his eyes out after arriving at the company that supposedly brought him to work.

Speaking on Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami, Mr Klottey indicated that the travel agent told him it was a delivery job at a mall for $500 pay. However, he was transported to a carpentry company in a small town in Bahrain.

“When I arrived at the carpentry shop, there were about seven workers. They showed me to the room, and I cried that night. Imagine me thinking I’ve become a ‘borga’ only to find myself in a village doing carpentry work.

I told my boss what the agent told me, and he said there was nothing like that. Meanwhile, I prepared with an international driving license ,but it became useless. They paid me 80 dinar, which was less than $200, but he told me the salary was $500,” he recounted.

Idris got another job as an AC Technician assistant but quit due to an arm injury. Eventually, Mr Klottey got another job as a driver, where he was arrested over a misunderstanding with his boss’s son.

“I was detained for five days. After the court session, they brought a ticket for deportation. This was in 2011. I don’t know who told the agent I was coming to Ghana. He came to Kotoka with the police and had me arrested because I had not paid his balance,” he mentioned.
