Germany-based Ghanaian Nana Akua Kwabea has disclosed that she dated a married man to survive but secretly married another and travelled to Germany. 

Speaking on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Nana Akua, however, mentioned that her ex was a Muslim, but there were no discussions of marriage until she met her German husband. According to her, dating a married man was necessary for survive in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

“I was just starting working as a trader selling airtime and cigarettes. It was close to a ghetto, so we did all we could to make money. I had someone supporting me and even my family. 

He rented my room for me, but he was married. He said he liked me and all. Despite his religion allowing multiple wives, he told me I could get married if I found someone,” she noted. 

Nana Akua added that they dated for four years with no marriage plans. Eventually, she met a German and decided to move on, but her married boyfriend refused to let her go. 

“I met my German husband through a friend and started talking. We planned our wedding, and he came to Ghana for it, but I didn’t tell my married boyfriend about it. I knew his background and what he could do. He found out on the wedding day and came there, but it was over,” she added.
