Canada-based Ghanaian, Albert Anum has stated that he made 540 Canadian Dollars after his first week of working in Toronto.

Speaking on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Albert revealed that he went to Canada with a student visa in 2022, but deferred to work for a year.

According to Albert, he had his friend get him a job before his arrival and within a week, he began working. This made it easier to settle in Canada.

“I got here on Friday and by Tuesday, he had linked me up with the job. I didn’t come with a lot of money for school but I had a plan. The first paycheck for a week for about $550,” he said.

However, Albert revealed that Canada is not the heaven people perceive it to be. Moreover, the bills he had to pay took most of his monthly salary.

“It’s not as easy as people think. I screamed when I started receiving bill alerts because, after the bills, there’s just little left of the money. I’d be lying if I said Ghana was better than Canada. Canada is far better but it is not the heaven people think it is.”

Albert shared some insights to help Ghanaians who would love to study in Canada and advised them against paying agents. He stressed the importance of research.
