Polish Afro dancer Oliwia Ratynska has stated that most Ghanaian men who met her often propose marriage to her only to ‘escape’ Ghana.
In a chat on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Oliwia mentioned that the men she has met so far have expressed interest in her for a pass to Europe. However, she believes they are only jokes.
“Every guy wants to marry me. They want to go to Poland. Some of the guys are very straight about it. They’ll be like, ‘I want to travel.’ But I think it’s all just small talk. They are not serious,” she said.
According to the dancer, her past relationship with a Ghanaian influenced her decision to visit Ghana, even after the relationship ended. Oliwia indicated that she fell in love with Afro-dance in 2020 and yearned to learn more physically.
In February 2022, Oliwia made her first trip to Ghana and stayed for a month. She said, “I was supposed to stay for two and half weeks, but I cried after two weeks. I didn’t want to go back. The people and the dance community were so lovely.”
“After I left, I went to Poland to make more money, so I can stay for a longer period. I came back, and I’ve been here for four months now.”
Oliwia Ratinska is a member of the Afro Zig Movement, headed by Incredible Zigi. She performed on many stages during the Christmas festivities; Afrochella, Freedom Wave Concert, etc.
