UK-based Ghanaian woman, Lydia Ofori has revealed that she prefers her daughter marry a Ghanaian abroad than one living in Ghana.

Speaking on ‘Daily Hustle Across the World,’ the mother of two girls stated that men living in Ghana do not have an idea about life abroad. Hence, she will prefer a man with enough knowledge about the lifestyle in the UK.

“My children were all born in Europe so I’d want them to marry men here even though God gives us marriage. I’d be happy if they find a man born in Europe because a man living in Ghana has a different upbringing.

My children were born and schooled here, so they live different lives. I prefer a Ghanaian man living in Europe,” she said.

According to her, the mindset of men who travel there to work is different from those who live there.

“Most of them come for money, and their family members will be looking up to them for money. But a man who lives here has his parents here, and they barely demand money from their children as compared to this abroad,” Lydia told host DJ Nyaami.

Madam Lydia also spoke about life as a Ghanaian in the UK, the Ghanaian community, and raising a child in the UK amidst gun violence.
