”I’ve realised that most parents due to the lack of job opportunities, force their children into nursing or teaching because they think there is the assurance of posting.

It is affecting our community because these days they are passionate about the job but because they need the money,” Betty said.

She advised that the youth follow their passion and make it their source of livelihood instead of working for someone for the sake of it.

Betty moreover indicated that ”as a society, we should focus on making professions such as doctors, engineers etc attractive to the young ones instead of slay queens or celebrities.”

Betty has an undergraduate degree in geography and rural development and a Masters degree in Sustainable and Integrated Rural Development.
