Veteran broadcasters Tommy Annan Forson and Kwaku Sakyi-Addo will rekindle a long-running romance with radio this June when they return to the airwaves to host shows at new radio stations.

According to sources at Max FM, Mr Annan-Forson will host Country Express, a country music show between 7 am and 9 am on Sunday.

He has also been appointed the Director of Radio at Max FM’s parent company the iMAX Media Group Ghana which operates one television and two radio channels, namely: Max TV – A digital terrestrial free-to-air channel based in Accra and Max FM – [Accra] | Maximum FM [Takoradi].

iMax, a fully-owned Ghanaian private multimedia broadcasting organization is also a stakeholder of StarTimes, a broadcast organization that runs a satellite pay-TV service, and StarTimes ON App. The company is a subsidiary of Mobile Zone Group of Companies [MZG], the 2011 CIMG Marketing Company of the Year.

Meanwhile, Mr Sakyi-Addo will host ‘Sunday Night” a talkshow on a new channel, Asaase Radio. The new station has been running a test transmission over the last few weeks.

Sunday Night will reportedly feature Ghanaian, African and global newsmakers in conversation with Sakyi-Addo on a wide range of subjects, from Business, the Arts, Sports, through Science and Politics. The new station, which broadcasts in English, Asaase Radio, promises quality programmes and prioritizes professionalism

Sakyi-Addo hosted the current affairs shows Front Page and Newsfile for a combined sixteen years on Joy FM. He was also the executive producer and host of Kwaku One-on-One, a head to head TV interview show on GTV and TV3 for ten years. He also hosted a live radio and television talk show, The Lounge on Starr FM which was recorded for telecast on GhOne TV from 2016 to 2018.

“I’m happy to be associated with a station that promises to enrich its audiences on-air and online with world-class content; a station worth waking up to and going to bed with,” Mr Sakyi-Addo said in a statement.

The former BBC and Reuters correspondent added: “I look forward to working with the station’s superb production team so ‘Sunday Night’ can contribute towards the vision of Asaase Radio.”
