Social influencers Obeng Darko and Odehyieba appeared on Daily Hustle Worldwide Show with Dj Nyaami to inspire the youth to embrace hard work and skilled professions. Both emphasized that success comes not just from effort, but from access to the right information and mindset.
According to Obeng Darko,“Without information, some people are useless. Both the rich and poor have access to information — it’s just that the rich use it wisely.”
Odehyieba added that Ghana is like heaven in comparison to some Western countries. “Here in Ghana, we enjoy fresh food. But abroad, most people use microwaves and eat processed food — the radiation alone is worrying,” he said.
Obeng Darko jokingly remarked, “Any old man walking around with a school backpack is probably from abroad.”
He criticized people who live paycheck to paycheck but brag when paid.
“If your salary doesn’t come, you can’t boast — you’re still poor. Rich people think differently. A PhD holder may manage GH₵100 for ten years, but someone with financial knowledge can turn GH₵100 into millions.”
He continued:
“Many people lack financial literacy. IMF loans are a trap — too many loans, and no food for lazy people. Rich cocoa farmers build houses and earn well, but when they sent their kids to school, those children abandoned farming for white-collar jobs that don’t pay. Some even sold their parents’ properties to travel abroad.”
Obeng Darko warned that people who waste time on social media, endless funerals, and entertainment will remain poor.
“Your future is shaped by what you invest your time in. Instead of watching skits, watch educational videos — how to farm, make cooking oil, repair phones, or learn other valuable skills.”
He added:
“God gave everyone talent. If you haven’t made GH₵100,000 or $100,000, invest your energy into working and learning. Information is key. Don’t stay stuck with outdated knowledge — if you do, life will be hard.”
He urged the youth to change their mindset:
“Stop associating with broke-minded people. Make wealthy, disciplined friends. Wealth is not magic — it’s structured. No mallam can make you rich. Start chasing mindset, not miracles.”
“There’s freedom and fulfillment in true wealth. Someone can use taxi money to travel abroad and still go broke the next day. Meanwhile, others stay in Ghana, invest wisely, and build empires.”
Finally, Odehyieba criticized Ghana’s pension system, calling it a scam. According to him, the promise of comfort in old age is misleading if you don’t plan your own financial path early.
